Our dances are BYOB, which means that alcohol will likely be present at events. Participants at Traffic Jam! events are expected to possess a valid ID and to drink responsibly, which means never driving under the influence, and being aware of one’s personal limits. Inebriation is not an excuse for harassing behavior. Underage drinking, or providing alcohol to those under 21 years will not be tolerated and may result in being banned from future Traffic Jam! events. If you see something that concerns you, please report it to a Traffic Jam! staff member, or the volunteer at the front desk.
Traffic Jam! events are for dancers of all-ages unless advertised otherwise. Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Information collected by Traffic Jam! from visitors to our website or from their computers will remain private and confidential. Traffic Jam! may collect phone numbers, email addresses, or mailing address information from visitors, but that information will never be used for any purpose other than distribution of information to those visitors about future Traffic Jam! events.
Traffic Jam! will never release any personal information submitted from a website visitor to any outside party, nor will we distribute any submitted email addresses to any outside organization or group unless express permission is given.
Lindy Hop is an athletic, high-paced style of dance, often involving acrobatic displays. For safety, Traffic Jam! prohibits execution of air-steps, flips, and other acrobatic maneuvers during its events. There is an appropriate time to perform acrobatic maneuvers, and if you don’t know when that is, then you should not be performing it.
Event attendees assume all responsibility and liability for any injuries they might suffer or cause during, and/or as a result of their participation in Traffic Jam! events. Traffic Jam! does not assume responsibility for injury to attendees’ due to their personal behavior.
The Chicago Cellar Boys are bringing some hot jazzy jazz to Traffic Jam at our February dance! Keeping the hometown theme we have DJ John Holmström swinging the floor during the band breaks and conducting the love train for the late night soul set.
