Code of Conduct

Community Safety Guidelines and Expectations

Traffic Jam wants to provide you with a safe and welcoming environment. To help us provide and promote a culture of safety within the event, we kindly request you read and follow the below code of conduct:

  • At all times be courteous and respectful of everyone while helping to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. This is regardless of, but not limited to age, body shape, ethnic background, gender, gender identities, life choices, political beliefs, race, religious beliefs (or lack thereof), sexual orientation, skill level, etc.
  • Traffic Jam reserves the right to take any action which it, in its sole judgment, deems appropriate in response to reports of abuse, harassment, threats, hazardous situations, or other inappropriate behavior (whether or not listed as an example on the next page), including but not limited to: warning the individual(s) who appear to be responsible, expelling them from the event, banning them from future Traffic Jam events, and/or notifying law enforcement if there is reason to believe that laws have been violated or there is a dangerous situation.

Please report any behavior that appears abusive, disrespectful, harassing, suspicious, unsafe, or that makes you feel uncomfortable for any reason to the person at the front desk, and they will find a Traffic Jam! staff member. You may also send an email to [email protected]. Except in cases where disclosure is required by law, we will treat any information we receive with strict confidentiality, unless otherwise instructed by the person reporting the incident.

Recording Consent and Release

As a condition of your admission to Traffic Jam! Swing Events, whether as an active participant or observer of others, you authorize Traffic Jam Swing, Inc. (“TJS”), acting through its agents, employees, or representatives, to take photos, videos, and make audio recordings of you, which will include your image, likeness, performance, and voice (“Recordings”) during the course of Traffic Jam! Swing Events. You further grant TJS an unlimited right to reproduce, use, exhibit, display, perform, broadcast, create derivative works from, and distribute Recordings in any manner or through any media which now exists or hereafter may be developed, in perpetuity, throughout the world for any purpose, including but not limited to, marketing, advertising, publicity, or other promotional purposes without compensation or reward.

Assumption of Risk

As a condition of your admission to Traffic Jam! Swing Events, whether as an active participant or observer of others, you acknowledge that attendance at, or participation in, Traffic Jam! Swing Events involves a risk of injury or loss to yourself and others resulting from physical activities occurring before, during and after such events, as well as from the consumption of alcohol by yourself and others at such Events. When attending a Traffic Jam! Swing Event, you agree, for yourself and for your representatives, heirs and assigns, that you have hereby waived and released all claims, demands and liabilities against Traffic Jam Swing, Inc. (“TJS”). and its employees, officers, directors, agents or members, for injury to person or property sustained in whole or in part from your participation in or attendance at Traffic Jam! Swing Events, and whether such injuries are anticipated or unanticipated, whether based on strict liability or for negligence, whether active or passive.

All classes and dances cancelled through April

In light of the current situation, we've effectively cancelled all Traffic Jam! classes and events through April. We are hoping to continue our regular programming in May, but we will follow the recommendations of the doctors and scientists who are researching Covid-19 and will keep you updated here, on our website, and via our newsletter.
