With Traffic Jam!
Traffic Jam Swing is dedicated to keeping the spirit of vintage swing dancing alive in Chicago. We work to grow the scene both by providing a space to dance as well as helping the community learn and grow. We invite you to not only enjoy our events but also to help us build this wonderful community!
VOLUNTEER
We rely heavily on our volunteers to keep costs down and provide people with a simple way to get involved. We need people to help us with set up before the event, running the front desk during the event, and cleaning up after. As a thank you, volunteering for our monthly event allows you to get free entry!
During our larger events, we will have even more ways to get involved so stay tuned for those opportunities.

DJS / MUSICIANS
Are you interested in Djing on of our events? Are you part of a band that would love to perform in a room full of dancers? Dj’s and Musicians provide the music that is the heart and soul to our events. If you are interested in being hired for an event, please contact hello@trafficjamswing.com to let us know.
TEACHER TRAINING
If you’re interested in learning to teach, we have a selective program to allow new teachers to gain experience in working with large classes. Through this program, you will be partnered with a more experienced teacher who will mentor you on how to deliver an effective class. You will work with your mentor to teach 3 classes, each followed by a feedback session. Teaching is a great way to not only hone your own understanding of the dance, but also help newcomers enjoy this fantastic art form.
