Workshop—Tap-Inspired Breaks in Lindy Hop
Sunday, August 21, 2:30 PM–4 PM
Teacher: Lauren & Kerry
Co-Created Rhythms
Have you ever seen someone throw down some fancy footwork at just the right musical moment and thought, "I want to do THAT!"? Come join Lauren and Kerry as they show you how and when (and even why!) to incorporate tap-based breaks into your partnered dancing. Expect to learn solo drills for rhythm and tap steps, seamlessly blend tap footwork into various partnered moves, and discover how strategically placed rhythm breaks can deepen your connection with the music and your partner.
Pre-Requisites: No tap experience required, should be comfortable swinging out.
Note About Tap Shoes: To protect our floors, no tap shoes will be allowed—hard-bottom shoes will work just fine! If you’d prefer to wear tap shoes, you must bring your own tap board.
